Toby L – Chief of Standards

My job in Hull Trinity House Academy goes further than regular officers and seniors as I hold the role of Chief of Standard. This role is one that’s appointed to someone that’s fair and just, as it is up to me to decide what type of sanctions people receive on the parade and ensure that standards remain high around the Academy. Also, since I hold the rank of chief, I am obliged to help and support the officers that follow in my footsteps helping to encourage the younger years into a better work ethic on the parade ground.
I always admired the history and ethos of HTHA, it’s a unique school and gives students the opportunity to grow their skills and helping push students to be the best versions of themselves, going as far as to do tutoring sessions to help those who need more academic support.
When I leave Hull Trinity House Academy, I will be continuing my education and completing A-levels to pursue my dreams of been a military musician and travel the world doing what I love and spreading the love of music and inspiring people who’d like to follow in my footsteps.
Outside of school I am part of the Junior Orchestra and the Wind-band at the Albermarle playing the tuba. I am also a Cadet at the Humberside & South Yorkshire Army Cadets where I teach people who would love to play music but struggle to start and was recently chosen to play in the Military Musical Spectacular at the Horse Guards Parade in London, only 30 cadets across the country were chosen to participate in this band.
I must say that as part of Hull Trinity House Academy, the school has the best teaching staff that we could ever ask for. If you ever need anything, please do ask any member of staff as they’re all willing to help out the best they can. Also, if you ever want to learn more about the school or want help finding your steps academically always remember that the chiefs and any officers will love to help give you inspiration and another point of view.
