Jack H – Chief of Marching

As Chief of Marching my role consists overseeing and being overall responsible for marching practice, a time where we train all students at HTHA on how to do parade, I also assist the Captain with his duties throughout the Academy. I also help run and organise events such as Sunday Church Parade and year 6 open evening.

I am very passionate about the schools long lasting and deep-routed history and connection with its maritime traditions and cultures. With many extra-curriculars and events such as parade, powerboating, Welton Waters and dinner day. Furthermore, I like the level of dedication the teachers at HTHA put into us and our education.

I would like to be a deck officer in the Merchant Navy eventually progressing to the rank of Captain, being at this school really helps me in the career choice as the officer program at the school teaches me lots of life skills such as leadership, teamwork and self-discipline.

Being at HTHA has opened me up to the world of maritime, in year 7 we went to Welton Waters Adventure Centre this sparked my love for sailing, I now go sailing at Welton Waters every week as an assistant instructor, I also go sailing on yachts in the Solent as a watch leader with Tall Ships Youth Trust.

Make sure you give 100% in everything you do, whether that’s for attendance, in the classroom or taking part in the traditions. If you embody the Trinity values, the rewards and life skills you inherit will serve you well for the future. Spes Super Sydera!
