Daniel D I – Chief of Johnson

As the Chief of Johnson, during the daily parade I walk around to make sure that all the students in the Johnson House are maintaining the high standards and expectations of the school and off parade, I make sure that students are being self-regulating on the corridors and during transitions to lessons.

What I love most about the school is the strong sense of community and how much opportunity there is for personal growth. Whether it’s through leadership in the officer system, special events like Dinner day or the experiences from the many school trips, the school gives everyone space to step up, express themselves, and evolve. The teachers also put in a lot of effort in making sure that all the students receive a high standard of learning regardless of any educational needs, there’s a real effort to celebrate diversity, it’s a place where your voice can matter, and that’s powerful.

When I leave the school, I plan on going to sixth form to get three A- levels then going on to University where I can begin to pursue my goal of becoming a dermatologist because I see it as a very fulfilling career and the school has greatly helped in my journey towards that goal as it has helped me to improve my social kills and my team-working skills.

Outside of school I enjoy studying as I like being ahead of my class in every subject. I also listen to a lot of music when I’m doing anything as it helps me to remain calm.

My advice to new students is to take the whole experience in and make the most of it academically and the opportunities you have outside of the classroom.
