Charlie B – Vice Captain

My role is Vice Captain of HTHA. This means that I go around the parade yard checking that all the Officers are doing their jobs properly and I fix any issues that arise as soon as possible to keep parade running smoothly. Being Vice Captain also means that I maintain behaviour around the academy whether it’s mine or other students and the key values of the academy decency, dignity and integrity to help in creating a good learning environment.
There is a multitude of things I enjoy about the school the main part is the countless opportunities the school offers such as sailing licenses and power boat licenses. I also like the opportunity to be an Officer as it allows myself and other students to build confidence.
When I leave HTHA I want to go to College to get my A-levels in maths and physics as well as doing my engineering in College. When I leave College, I want to then join either the Royal Engineers or Royal Corps of Signals as an Officer.
My biggest interest/hobby is the Army Cadet Force. Being in cadets has helped me develop my leadership skills as well as my confidence. It has also helped me to experience new things.
For anyone who wants to join HTHA I would recommend putting in 100% effort through your whole time in the school since this will make your life a lot easier down the line so you can be less stressed when you do your exams. I would also recommend taking advantage of the amazing staff at this school since the teachers try their hardest to make the lessons engaging and fun.
