  • Goodbye Y11 and don't forget about the Prom!

    With the exams drawing to a close at the end of the week it is time to say goodbye to Year 11 pupils. 

    Our Prom is Friday 24th June at 7pm at the Staff House at Hull University. We hope to see most of our Year 11 there for a proper farewell.

  • Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

    With summer having officially started here are a few activities from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust that you might be interested in. See the leaflets below for more details.

     

    Visit the Spurn Lighthouse

    The newly restored Spurn Lighthouse sits within the wildlife haven of Spurn National Nature Reserve. Visitors to this iconic landmark can make their way along the three and a half mile peninsula walk or cycle routes, or climb aboard a Spurn Safari to travel in style.

    Just a reminder that this Sunday (26th June) is the Lord Mayor's Sunday Service at Holy Trinity Church. 

    The meeting for the boys is at 10:30 at Hull Trinity House Academy. Hope to see you all there to see the boys parade through the city centre.

  • ACE day at the University of Hull

    On the 10th May all our year 9 boys attended an ACE day at the University of Hull. The ACE day aims to address some of the misconceptions students have about university. It's designed to increase awareness of further and higher education and to raise aspirations.

    It was a day of fun-based activities on campus, facilitated by undergraduates, they explored what it meant to be a university student and found out about the opportunities available to them.

  • French Exchange 2016

    The annual French exchange took place this Easter.  Miss Welton, Mrs Metcalfe and 9 of our students travelled with their French partners to the sunny climes of the South of France.  Pupils thoroughly immersed themselves in French life, trying the food and practising their French and of course shopping!  Henry Allan says, ” There were many interesting excursions, but my favourite was when we went to the Pyrenees.  It was a steep climb at times, but some of us actually ran up the mountain and had to stop for

    As a consequence of the Government increase to  the National Minimum Wage, Chartwells, our school meals provider, is having to increase the price of the daily ‘Meal Deal’ by 10p, from £2.00 to £2.10 from Monday 18th April 2016.

  • Dinner Day 2016

    Yesterday was our annual Dinner Day. All the boys were outstanding during our whole Academy parade and inspection from the Master Warden, the Principal and School Captain. Following this, KS4 students attended their Chapel Service followed by a lunch with the Brethren. As usual, it was a very special day for the Academy and the Year 11 students.

    After hosting the French pupils for a week, the Y9 and Y10 boys involved in the French Exchange have left today for the South West of France. 

    Let's wish them a pleasant and fulfilling trip full of new experiences, language opportunities and of course French food!

  • Year 7 Most Able Trip to Hull University

    Eight of our Yera 7 boys enjoyed a great day at Hull University, as part of the University's  school engagement week. 

    In the morning they split into two teams and competed in a Maths challenge. This was very popular, games the boys played included ROGO, Bojagi and a chance dice game. They did really well and enjoyed competing against teams from Hymers, Hull Collegiate, The Boulevard and Malet Lambert. The activities encouraged team working and even working with girls! Although they didn't win they loved tak

  • Keeping up with the boys in English

    Wednesday 23rd March sees the start of our latest free Family learning course as featured on our web page and in the Hull Daily Mail earlier this month.

    This course offers parents the opportunity to enhance their English skills and gain a national Level 2 equivalent qualification, whilst at the same time helping them to encourage their sons to be more confident with their English skills.

    Anyone interested in trying the course should contact Student Services as soon as possible to secure a place.

    This morning 24 Stage 3 students took part in a live link up event organised for the national Child Sexual Exploitation Day (CSE). They discussed live with other secondary schools accross the region how to help protect children against sexual exploitation.

  • Y11 Prom 2016 and Y11 Leavers Hoodies

    Leavers Hoodies and Prom Tickets are now available! Please use Parent Pay to buy yours and see Mr Germain to finalise the order for your Hoodie. 

    The Prom will take place on Friday 24th June at Hull University Staff House, starting at 7pm. It will be a celebration in honour of our Year 11 and the last chance to say goodbye before they all take their different routes. We hope to see you all there!
